The Prime Ministerial couple, Sali and Liri Berisha, held a reception for the governing cabinet.
Berisha expressed his gratitude for their work, which, according to him, has made possible the reforms for the country’s development.
The Prime Minister focused on the reforms, since they kept the European and international financial crisis away from Albania. One of these reforms, according to Berisha, was the wage and pension increase.
The Albanian government is one of the fewest in Europe and the world that in this world crisis period keeps increasing wages and pensions. The Minister declared that the good management enabled the construction of the country’s infrastructure without damaging the macro-economic stability.
“We closed this year with a deficit of 3.5%. We showed that we are a serious government and cannot let the situation go off our hands. We closed the year without an increase of the debt, and by realizing the predicted projects”, Berisha declared.
The Prime Minister added that the next year is also very important, not only for putting the budget to reality, but also because 2012 is the 100th anniversary of Albania’s independence.
