Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, stands to his previous
declarations and called the political prisoners’ a politically motivated
strike.
“This is a political strike and has nothing to do with the requests of the political prisoners, but it serves to the interests of a given party”, Berisha declared, a few minutes before the political prisoners ended their strike.
Berisha added that the Democratic Party has compensated those who resisted the communist regime, and also the families of the victims.
As regards Albania’s integration developments, Berisha declared that he hopes that the three laws requires by the European Commission will be approved by the Albanian Parliament within the deadline. Berisha declared that the responsibility falls on the opposition leader, depending on if he will chose blockage or not.
“The government does not have the qualified majority votes, and two of these laws are organic. I don’t know what will be the opposition’s stance”, Berisha declared.
The Prime Minister was in a joint press release with his Bulgarian homologue, Bojko Borisov, and declared that the majority has offered the biggest consensus possible allowed by the Constitution.
The opposition has declared that they will pass these important laws, but asked first the solution of the Fier problem.
