
The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, held a phone conversation
with the corporal Aleksander Peci, who is now under specialized
treatment at the US military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany.
According to the Prime Ministry’s press release, Berisha expressed his best wishes to Aleksander Peci, on behalf of the Albanian government and people, for a fast and complete recovery for his return to his family and homeland.
The Prime Minister also expressed the deep gratitude and pride of the Albanian government and the entire people for the noble peacekeeping mission that Aleksander and all Albanian military men are conducting in Afghanistan, in the framework of the Northern Atlantic Alliance, with manhood, professionalism and special dignity.
Corporal Peci was transferred to Germany this Thursday, under the care of a group of doctors that have surveyed him during the entire trip.
Initially he underwent a surgery at a Kandahar Hospital, at the Bagram Air Base, which resulted successful.
The Ministry of Defense then announced that the situation of the Commando injured this Monday had significantly improved.
