Prime Minister Berisha expressed his pleasure that the Action Plan for
the European Integration of the country is being processed with the
opposition’s contribution at the Parliamentary Integration Commission.

While the deadline for submitting a common project to Brussels has expired and there is no written comment from the Commission, the Prime Minister insists that the opposition should continue to give concrete and serious cooperation proofs with the government in the integration process.

Referring to the European Commission that this process should be all inclusive, so that the entire country can receive the status within this year, the Prime Minister blamed the opposition leader, Edi Rama, for delaying Albania’s progress with two years.

“The failure of these reforms left Albania without an EU candidate status for two years. I guarantee the citizens of this country that we are still very determined to do everything possible for a healthy cooperation with the opposition for this process, within the basic principles”, Berisha declared.

Berisha joked about the behavior of the opposition leader, promising that soon enough the internet fees will be cheaper and without market interventions. Since the Mr. Rama uses Twitter frequently for criticizing the Prime Minister, Berisha compared himself with Rama’s way to contact the public.

“Tweeting with the voice of a crow, it is not good. From the moment that he enters an invisible shelter, it means that he has serious problems. Everyone in this country is free to choose his way of communication. I will keep contacting directly with my citizens”, Berisha declared.

During the meeting, the government decided to compensate the families of the persons that have been executed ore died during the communist regime interrogation. Prime Minister Berisha asked to add to this compensation the category of people that the regime persecuted by closing them in psychiatric hospitals, only because of their political views.
