Prime Minister Sali Berisha declared that the opposition is blocking the
passing of important laws. Speaking for the media from New York, where
he participated in the 66th session of the UN General Assembly, Berisha
emphasized that the opposition has used its power for blocking the
process.

“Albania has a problem, which now has been known all over the world, the fact that the opposition will not vote, but will use its power for blocking. The opposition declared that they will commit for the electoral reforms, which we welcome. But they declared that they will not vote the laws that require 35 of the Parliament votes and has set a series of conditions and ultimatums, which I think that aim to justify its further blocking position”, Berisha declared.

Asked about Kosovo and the process of its independence recognition, the head of the Albanian government emphasized that he has noticed a better understanding for the recognition of Kosovo’s independence, but he didn’t mention any concrete country.
