Berisha launches campaign in Shkoder

Prime Minister Sali Berisha launched the electoral campaign in the city of Shkoder, announcing Lorenc Luka as the candidate for Mayor.

During his speech, he thanked the Shkoder citizens for the generous support and promised to turn the city into the biggest regional center.

“The first thing that comes from my heart, is to bow before you, dear citizens of Shkoder, for the unstoppable support that you have given to the Democratic Party since the day it was founded. In the next four years, together with Lorenc Luka we will achieve more than we have achieved in the last 20 years. Shkoder will become in these four years the most important center of Albania, the most developed city of the region”, Berisha declared.

The Prime Minister emphasized that in these years, the Democratic Party has freed Shkoder from the wrinkles of the Communist regime, and in the years to come they will transform it to the “Shkoder of the new century” through a wave of investments.

“The next four years will be the years of the Shkoder of the new century. We will transform Shkoder into the cultural center of northern Albania and beyond. The academic world of Shkoder will meet new and broader dimensions. We will stop the natural disasters with the construction of the bypass “, Berisha underlined and afterwards he presented the main priorities for the northern Albanian city.

“In the past four years we built 448 km of roads, and on the next four years we will reconstruct every road and alley of the city and nearby villages. In the last four years we built aqueducts and canalizations, in the next four years we will make possible running water for 24 a day. Shkoder will have investments in culture, will have the most modern sport terrains in the region, landfills and university campuses”, Berisha declared.

Concluding his speech, the Prime Minister addressed a message to the opposition leader, Edi Rama. “I say to comrade Rama that in this campaign I will not lose even 30 seconds of my time to quarrel with you, because who loses his time with Rama is like Rama himself. Get used with your destiny. We are going to win”, Berisha added.
