Berisha: January 21st, a holiday

16/02/2013 00:00

The Albanian Prime Minister visited the city of Lushnje and attended a meeting with the local citizens.

Berisha was asked why January 21st wasn’t declared national holiday, since a Constitutional Act was approved at the Lushnje Congress on 21 January 1920, which declared the full independence of Albania and elected Sulejman Delvina as the Prime Minister of Albania.

“The Lushnje Congress deserves to become a national holiday, and there is not obstacle to this. The only problem is that we are obliged to have more national holidays than other countries, and that would damage private enterprises and the economy in general. We will review it and find a solution, because that is a wonderful Albanian event”, Berisha declared.

The Prime Minister made a detailed analysis of his government’s achievements, promising a series of investments in different priority areas after the third mandate.

“We know for sure that we make mistakes in our work and that we deserve critics, but the important thing is that we have the tendency to listen to these critics and correct our mistakes”, Berisha declared.
