Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, invited the political forces,
mainly the Socialist Party, to come together on behalf of the national
interests and leave the political differences aside.
The Prime Minister declared that he was inspired by the extraordinary message of the US State Department, Hillary Clinton, during her visit in Tirana.
“I invite Mr. Rama to work together in the spirit of this message for the things that unite us. Integration unites us. Certainly, we have our differences, but June is the month when all differences are voted. It’s not the opposition or the government that benefits political capital. We have differences and for this we will go to elections. We present our differences and they decide who they will vote for”, Berisha declared.
Berisha declared that now they have to vote the three laws and push forward the Integration process, for which the opposition declared that they will not vote them until the Fier District will be resolved.
“The fact that you don’t vote the laws that are required on a good will by the European Commission is enough to put in doubt the seriousness of the Albanians for the integration process. Vote the three democratic laws that consolidate the judiciary, the civil service and the Parliamentary regulations. Let’s answer to the appeal of the European Commission as a testimony of our good will and not block the process that is massively supported by the Albanians”, Berisha declared.
Berisha mentioned the elections of 2013, for which he said that he guaranteed US Secretary Clinton for the government’s commitment to hold elections in accordance with the highest democratic standards.
“I guaranteed her that the Albanian government has the will to work on this direction, and I expressed my trust that the opposition is deeply interested for free and honest elections. Naturally, I asked her to bring as many observers as possible from the US for the next elections”, Berisha declared.
