Berisha invites Rama again

The Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha invited the Socialist leader,
Edi Rama, to stop the rhetoric and vote together for removing the
immunity on August sixth.

“Commissioner Fule sent me a letter in which he values the progress achieved by the cooperation, and he demands that this cooperation should complete the other reforms. The immunity, before all, and the laws that are in Parliament”, Berisha declared.

With the letter written by the European Commission for enlargement and the clear position of the Cypriot Foreign Minister that the decisions for the immunity will determine the EU candidate status for Albania this autumn, Prime Minister Berisha invited Edi Rama once again to vote the Constitutional amends on August sixth.

“On August sixth we can bring down the immunity wall, the corruption wall that is blocking the integration process of this country. No one can believe that Albania has a good will to fight corruption, if you don’t vote to remove immunity”, Berisha declared.

By underlining that the majority has conceded everything it could, and accepted the Socialists’ option for limiting immunity, Berisha asked the opposition leader to not use the Socialist vote for blocking the country.

“If you think that you will damage Sali Berisha by keeping the immunity wall, you are very wrong. If you think that you can block Albania’s status for its 100th anniversary of independence, you are very wrong. You damage only Albania and the Albanians, and you remind them Konica’s expression: ‘God may save Albania from the Albanians’. Be sure that the Albanians will speak seriously and they have 100 motives for giving you what you deserve, if you block them once again”, Berisha declared.

According to Berisha, by not voting the immunity limitation law on August sixth, the Socailist Party will pay a very expensive political bill.

“There is no more rudimentary logic than leaving Albania without the EU status thinking that you will damage Sali Berisha. The Albanians are seeing that Berisha has made everything possible. Berisha has conceded everything that he could with his allies, so that August sixth can be a removed obstacle of our EU road”, Berisha declared.
