Prime Minister Sali Berisha inaugurated the construction works of the Kërraba Tunnel, with a symbolic explosion.
“Today, the dream of millions of travelers is becoming reality. Within 18 months, the Tirana-Elbasan highway will be finished. After the road of the nation, the Tirana-Elbasan highway is the second major work, transforming Elbasan into the closest city to the Albanian capital”, Berisha declared, adding that this is the most important part of the Southern Axis.
The Highway Tirana-Elbasan will be 31 km long, with four lanes and two tunnels, the longest of which will be 2.4 kilometers. There will be seven overpasses, four underpasses and a moving speed of 110 km per hour.
