Berisha: I will not meet Rama

The meeting between Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta brought other news:
Berisha will not directly meet Edi Rama. Berisha gave no specific reason
on why he didn’t want to sit on a table with Edi Rama for the
presidential election, but he authorized Patozi and Spaho to negotiate
with the Socialists.

“I invite Mr. Rama to show his trust to the collaborators and authorize two people for constant contacts. We aim a civil, responsible and constitutional process”, Berisha declared.

Berisha added that all parties should make everything possible for a serious process and for giving a consensual president to the country.

“Without meeting with Rama, we have undertaken the deepest reforms in the history of our country. This is not a show, but the essence is what matters for me. When we realized deeper constitutional changes, we didn’t meet for telling the journalists what we can do, but we left it to the acts. I wish that this heritage will continue. There is no problem besides that, for progressing with concrete results, and I can say that the work for this has been paved”, Berisha declared.

The Prime Minister answered to Rama’s message that considers Berisha’s meetings with the allies as a mere show.

These meetings are among the most serious that have been held in the last three years. Even the meeting between the Democrats and the Socialists will be serious. There is no reason for the consensus to cede and mistrust to prevail. Our dedication for giving the country a wide based president is what must prevail”, Berisha added.
