Prime Minister Sali Berisha gathered the Inter-ministerial Committee for the 100th year of independence.

This committee is tasked with the organization and coordination of the government departments for the celebration of the 100th year of independence.

Berisha declared that the celebrations will be extended during the entire year, since it is a jubilee for the Albanians. Berisha declared that in this year, the Albanians need more then ever to learn the truth of their history, far from political manipulations. He spoke about a review of the history, which should be made by the historians and scholars with objectivity, and part of this review should be made for the figures who cooperated with the occupiers, in order to present them as they are, and not black and white, as it has been made so far.

“The activities for the 100th anniversary will be extended throughout the year, because this is a jubilee. The most important events of our history will be marked, until 17 February 2008. We are working for turning this into the year of the great national truths, because the Albanians need the truths more than ever, far from the historical manipulations. The nation needs the pure truth. These matters do not belong to politics, but to our historians and scholars, who must show objectivity and not see them in black and white”, Berisha declared.
