The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, focused his speech on some important economic agreements for infrastructure and energy, for which the majority promised to conclude.
One of the most objected projects of the Socialist opposition, the Albpetrol privatization, was considered by the Prime Minister as the safest road for turning Albania into a fuel power and for eliminating corruption.
“The privatization agreement with Albpetrol is extremely important. The privatization is the safest way for hitting corruption in this sector. I hope that Albania will become an important country in the fuel area”, the Prime Minister declared, underlining that our country has the biggest oil field in Continental Europe, Patos Marinza.
Berisha mentioned other government projects in energy, focusing on the majority’s goal for turning the country into an energetic superpower in the region, by exploiting the water resources.
Berisha also mentioned the Fier by-pass that will start after the financial agreement between the European Bank of Investments and the Albanian government.
Berisha gathers the tourism committee
Right after the government meeting, Berisha gathered the inter-ministerial committee for tourism, tasked with the duty to coordinate the departments for improving the conditions for tourism on the verge of the new tourist season.
The Prime Minister also emphasized environment, saying that a big problem are the inert materials in the coastline. He asked the Albanian society to raise awareness for having a cleaner environment.
“The stance towards environment in essence is a stance towards health and life. We, as a society, must keep a new stance towards environment. The bigger problems are the inert materials”, the PM declared.
