A few weeks before the start of the new academic year, Prime Minister Berisha dedicated a long part of his government meeting speech to education.

Berisha asked rigorous control of public and private education, and besides encouraging investments in this sector, he proposed the application of an American law in Albania.

“With rigorous controls and by consolidating the inspection mechanism, we must apply the free land law for school without stopping. Hence, the Education Minister and the respective ministries, it is important to implement in Albania this law that already exists in the USA. We will give free lands to those who will build schools and hospitals, and we will encourage these constructions. I appeal these institutions to seriously consider their transformation into non-profit education institutions”, Berisha declared.

The Prime Minister promised that the government will stimulate the education and health system. He added that the health situation has changed, thanks to the investments in the private health sector.

“Until 4-5 years ago, the hospital bill paid from Albanians only in one Istanbul hospital reached 35 million USD annually. It is a wonderful hospital that most of them used for tests. These tests are now realized here by the private and public sector, bringing a great novelty”, Berisha declared.

The Prime Minister added that the government has halved the list of waste products that will be imported for being recycled in Albania, after discussing them with the civil society.
