Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, expressed his dissatisfaction
for the way how the international leaders are managing the Eurozone
crisis, which, according to Berisha, is also damaging the regional
economy.
“We are dealing with a deep crisis, which spreads its radius to the suburbs and negatively affects the small countries of our region. The truth is that the focus to concentrate the crisis only in the area where it was born is almost inexistent”, Berisha declared.
The Albanian Prime Minister thinks that not only the EU, but also the IMF and the World Bank are not taking any concrete measures for stopping the spread of the economic crisis at the economies of Western Balkan.
“A meeting was held in Tokyo, but we heard nothing special”, Berisha declared.
There were critics also by the Governor of the Albanian Bank, Ardian Fullani, who asked the European Union to make a preferential treatment and to undertake direct financings for the countries under development in Balkan.
“We appeal the creation of the adequate mechanisms and instruments for financing the Eurozone suburb countries by the EU”, Fullani declared.
“My appeal goes not only to the European Commission, but also to the institutions of Bretton Wood, so that they can work with a helping strategy that would limit the existing crisis and prevent its spread”, Berisha declared.
The two high rank officials have used the tenth international conference over the monetary politics for asking stronger support from the international financial institutions.
