The visit in Tirana of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo leader,
Ramush Haradinaj, after he was found innocent by the Court of Hague, has
showed the mutual opinions of Haradinaj with Prime Minister Berisha on
many issues.

Both politicians reiterated that the further consolidation of Kosovo’s independence has a vital interest for the Albanians, and the ideal of the national unification is important as well. They also agreed for Prime Minister Berisha’s idea of realizing this unification with Albanian citizenship to all Albanians who live abroad, which he takes care to accompany with the words “Albanians’ unification in the EU”. Mr. Haradinaj declared that this is a historical right for the Albanians.

“I don’t see it as an action of other proportions, but only the implementation of a right that the Albanians have outside its borders since 1913”, Haradinaj declared.

“These stances were adopted by several EU countries. This is a practice that not only doesn’t destabilize, but on the contrary, it produces more stability and development”, Berisha declared.

The Prime Minister explained that through this initiative he has only repeated an initiative that he took on July 1992, with the decree to give the Albanian citizenship to every foreign national with Albanian origins.

“At that time there was no reaction. Now that we are going towards this process, this might seem as a surprise. But every Albanian is a shareholder of the Albania that we have today. We can’t deny history. Read the independence act to see who signed for it, and the members of the first Parliament. These are positive truths and do not damage anyone”, Berisha declared.

During his visit in Tirana, the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, was received with a ceremony by the highest authorities of the Albanian state, including the Albanian President.

Mr. Nishani decorated the former Kosovo Liberation Army commander and the former Prime Minister of Kosovo with the “Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu” title. The order was motivated for the extraordinarily contribution and the resistance of the KLA to defend the territorial integrity of the Albanian lands and the liberation of Kosovo.
