As soon as the car of Prime Minister Sali Berisha stopped in the centre
of Peshkopia, a fan ran to meet him but the security officers
neutralized her immediately.

Berisha commented the European Commission’s decision to recommend the Council to give Albania the candidate status. Berisha visited Peshkopia for the graduation ceremony of the first students of the “Alexander Xhuvani” University branch in Peshkopia. There he accused the opposition of making everything possible to block Albania’s status.

“They stayed outside the Parliament for two years, only to punish our country, and then they accepted everything that we had proposed. The government has the duty to make everything possible to create the conditions for the opposition to cooperate, rather than imposing it. This is an unchangeable stance. But when they accepted last November what we had already offered two years ago, there’s a lesson to take from this”, Berisha declared.

The Prime Minister declared that his government will make everything possible to fulfil the obligations of Brussels. He added that this majority has reconstructed 71% of the schools and has increased the number of graduated people drastically.

The Prime Minister confirmed that the education quality has serious problem, and this will be the government’s priority in the next mandate.

Berisha focused on another achievement of his government, which is the increase of the internet users.

“In Facebook, Albania leaves behind a considerable number of European countries for the number of registered users. In 2005, only 38% of the Albanians were using cell phones. Today that number has increased to 186%”, the government leader declared.

Berisha visited the agro-business fair at the “Crops Celebration” in Peshkopia, where he promised the farmers to triple the agricultural investments in the next mandate.
