The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, participated in the meeting
of the right winged European leaders, where he supported the agreement
reached between Kosovo and Serbia.

“I expressed my biggest appreciation for the recent agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, as an important agreement not only for both countries, but for the entire region. I emphasized that the decision for the status of Serbia is a just decision and very important. It is also a necessity to support the European Commission’s initiative for studying the feasibility and the clear European perspective of Kosovo”, Berisha declared.

In the regular summit where the topics are being discussed, the Head of the Albanian government declared that he had also spoken about the situation in Albania.

“I updated the summit with the recent developments in Albania, and I defended my views in front of my colleagues, that Albania’s EU integration process is and must be a process based on merits, because only as such it serves to the Albanian citizens. A great attention in this summit was directed on the bad human right situation in Belarus, the health problems and the stances kept against the Ukrainian opposition leader, Julia Timoshenko”, the Prime Minister declared.

PM Berisha participates regularly in these meetings. The Democratic Party has the observatory status at the European Parliament, until Albania will be an EU member.
