Twenty-nine members of the ‘Re-establishment Commission’ of the Democratic Party asked today the current chairman Lulzim Basha to vacate the working premises of the party chairman.
They set a deadline of January 5 or else, according to them, the DP membership will be forced to become “executors of this political decision.”
Representative Belind Këlliçi, emphasized that a letter will be sent by mail to Lulzim Basha, while the diplomatic corps accredited in Tirana will also be informed.
“Its final result sanctions that 43 thousand Democrats have decided in favor of the decision of the National Assembly which is your dismissal,” said Këlliçi.
He stated that the Re-Establishment Commission of the Democratic Party, through this official communication, invites him to get acquainted with the will of the Democratic Party.
“You are required to take all appropriate measures to implement the clear will of the DP membership, expressed through the decision of the Assembly and the referendum as a mechanism of direct democracy, thus freeing the working premises of the Chairman of the Party, as well as make the relevant submissions to the Provisional Commission for the Re-establishment, until 05/01/2022 “, said Këlliçi.
The assembly convened by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his supporters voted on December 11 to dismiss Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha.
