The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, declaring that the victory in
the next elections is certain, warned that there will be a review of
the budget to afford some tax reductions that the government will
decide.

The Prime Minister has already announced the removal of VAT for imported agricultural and industrial machineries; the removal of income taxes for wages under 30.000 ALL and other reductions that according to the Prime Minister reach 170 million EUR in the budget.

“Certainly that there will be a new position against expenses, and I am not speaking about wages and pensions. They will increase, because it is our constant policy, but other spending might be reviewed. There is no safer investment for the future than education and employment of Albanian youth”, Berisha declared.

One of the new fiscal reforms proposed by the Prime Minister is removing all tax obligations for businesses that employ youth, a decision that Berisha considers one of the most important reforms in the job market.

“We will continue with the reforms, so that we can prepare the material for the next mandate. The next mandate requires an Albania with economic growth, with production and employment as two of the biggest objectives of this government. The next mandate requires for the reforms to positively affect the revenues of every citizen”, Berisha declared.

The Prime Minister used irony against the Socialist leader, Edi Rama, who said that the government is copying the opposition program.

“Rama complains that we copied his program, but he has no program. He says that we stole his commissioners, than his allies. It’s an obsessive syndrome, but June 23rd will clear his mind. He has the scenario of 2009, and Blushi will start the movement ‘don’t talk to the driver’”, Berisha declared.

Harito: Prime minister is copying the “Rebirth”

Milena Harito from the opposition declared that the Prime Minister is lying when he sais that he has increased the wage of teachers and nurses, but the truth is that the flat tax is taking more money from their pockets. “For this reason we will establish the honest tax, which will liberate 95% of the Albanians and will increase the buying power”, Harito declared.

“Berisha says that education has progressed, while the USAID report shows that the illiteracy level in Albania has gone to 15%. We will renew the education and will encourage youth employment”, the SP representative declared.
