Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future In a conference about the economic situation in Albania, the Albanian
Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, underlined that our country has preserved
the economic growth, despite the global crisis.
According to Berisha, Albania did not experience a recession and did not suffer the debt crisis. “Albania, just a drop of water in the global ocean, was able to keep the economic growth during these years. We kept an economic growth that is four times bigger than the average of the region. Although Albania felt the consequences of the crisis, we had no recession. Our economic model worked, but it needs further improvement so that we can keep the economic growth”, Berisha declared
The Albanian Prime Minister underlined that Albania has a public debt of 60%, but this is a debt contracted with the economic golden law, only for the investments. The conference continued with questions and suggestions from the participants. Answering to the questions, Berisha expressed his convinction that the flexibility of the labor market is a main condition for development.
