With the expansion of internet in more areas of Albania, the influence
of technology, information and communication, is becoming even more
important. As important is the interest shown by the Albanian youth to
become informatics experts.
Although Albania doesn’t have a tradition in this area, the Resource Centre for Information Technology and Communication “Protik” finds young students who have made concrete their passion and knowledge. Some teenagers met by Prime Minister Sali Berisha today had built a robot that could be commanded by PC and smart phones.
A group of students have created a program that helps blind people, while others a portal that informs citizens in real time about everything that is going on in Tirana.
The Proti centre was created as a partnership of the Albanian and American governments in cooperation with private companies to help the future development of the country.
