The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, held a speech at the business
fair and forum, FIA, where he spoke about Albania’s potential in the
energy sector.
During his speech Berisha declared that Albania has had a strong economic growth lately and can progress even further.
“We have increased the foreign investments and exports with three times. The biggest potential of this country is in the energy area”, Berisha declared.
He announced that the government has signed 120 concession agreements in the private sector for the construction of 120 new power plants.
“Albania is a Norway of Balkan, rich of water resources that make hydro power extremely important. The considerations for investing in this area are very serious”, Berisha underlined.
According to him, Albania’s chances to receive Southstream, the biggest European project, are very real and approaching to the realization.
“Albania offers rich gas sources in some areas and fuel reserves”, the PM declared.
