Berisha: 700 USD salaries for teachers

The promise is related with a considerable growth of the teachers’ salaries, even beyond the increase that has been seen in these eight years.

“I guarantee teachers that in the next four years their salaries will have an increase which is twice or three times bigger than the price index. After four years, a teacher’s salary will be 700 USD. Teachers will be paid better than in some EU countries”, Berisha declared.

Berisha made this promise while inaugurating a new professional school in Kamza, built by the EU and the Albanian government. The school has 15 branches and modern labs where children can take a specific professional direction. This is classified as the biggest professional school in our country.

Berisha promised that for the next mandate there will be three times more funds for expanding professional education in the country, which could provide more jobs for young students.

As for the quality, of education, Berisha promised not only to rebuild schools, but also to modernize the education infrastructure.

“All Albanian schools in 2006 had only 900 computers in total. Today we have more than 24.500. Our promise for the next four years is to provide digital teaching in every classroom”, Berisha declared.

The Albanian Prime Minister compared the standard of the newly built school in Kamez with the level that Albania, according to him, will reach in the next four years, that of an developed European country.
