Berat delegates commemorated

Berat has turned into the city where the Democrats have celebrated
together in this month dedicated to the celebrations about the 100th
year of independence. Prime Minister Berisha was invited in Berat by the
Socialist Mayor, Fadil Isufi, just to celebrate the independence.

As one of the cities that preserved one of the most priceless heritage of the Albanian and world culture, the Purple Codex of Berat, which has been displayed recently in the city, Berat is proud with the six delegates who signed the Declaration of Independence, Bab Dude Karbunara, Iljaz and Sami Vrioni, Dhimiter Tutulani, Qemal Bej Mullaj, Ferit Vokopola, Hajredin Cakrani and Xhelal Koprencka.

“Berat came in 1912 as a jewel of the Albanian, European and world culture. Berat came in the independence arch as an undefeated castle, together with the aspirations of Berat for freedom, dignity and independence”, Berisha declared.

During the celebrations in Berat, Prime Minister Berisha did not forget to honour and express his gratitude to all the Albanians who gave their lives for Albania in these 100 years.

Berisha and Nasufi gave the gratification decorations to the patriotic families of Berat. By valuing the Mayor of Berat for these decisions that he considered noble, Berisha declared that you can tell a civilized country by the men and women it honours.

This Saturday afternoon were displayed the portraits of the delegates who signed the Declaration of Independence.

In the inauguration of this exhibition made by painter Arben Morina was invited the Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, who valued the figures that brought the independence to Albania.

He declared that despite the difficult times that our people has been obliged to endure, the dream of those delegates has turned to reality today.

Several other exhibits of this type are opened throughout the country in honour of the figures that brought the independence.
