Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The opposition accuses the Prime Minister of publicly lying when he says
that the budget of 2012 will be the biggest in the country’s history.
Beqja says that the country’s finances will deteriorate and for this he
refers to the data through the years.
“The revenues and the expenses are lower than the budget of 2010 and 2011. The Expenses predicted for 2012 are 3.5% lower than 2011 and 3.8% lower than 2010”, Beqja declared.
Beqja says that the finances are going out of control for a series of reasons, which the opposition had warned two years ago.
“We have a problem with Albania’s economic development model. There’s an abuse with the public finances for the Democratic Party electoral purposes, and the government still doesn’t accept the crisis or to even sit and reflect. There seems to be a total incompetence to predict the macro-economic developments, which is related with the destruction of the public administration”, Beqja declared.
The budget has decreased for three consequent years, what has caused the government to fail with the medium termed economic predictions. But what are the consequences for the citizens?
“It means fewer investment opportunities in the economy, for social protection, health and education. On the other hand, this means that the economy is worse than two years ago. This means that we are coming to the point when it is indirectly admitted that the government is in a very bad situation, and is using the budget figures as justification”, Beqja declared.
Beqja says that the Prime Minister’s attempts to lie for the public debt are another indicator that proves that the economy is deteriorating.
