One day after the consensual voting of the Parliamentary Commission for
the Electoral Reform, Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, said that
their priority is establishing a system that will avoid not only vote
purchase, but also the role of crime in the elections.
“Not only electronic voting, but also avoiding the role of crime from deciding votes. The opposition has been very clear that Edi Rama is the main responsible. This model was built by him”, the DP leader declared.
Basha said that Rama’s removal from office is necessary for the country and for cutting, according to him, the ties of the state with crime.
“We have a mafia-style system with a mafia political cupola. This is not organized crime, but mafia. One step higher”, Basha declared.
He appealed international partners to start publishing the names of politicians who have ties with the crime, and why these mafia families have been leading the country in the past four years.
Basha adds that the DP has open doors for cooperation with other parties, as long as they are not tied to crime.
