Lulzim Basha rarely doesn’t use a careful and diplomatic language. The
former Foreign Minister preferred to talk without gloves about the
incident in Belgrade. Basha listed all facts of Serbian violence, and
mentioned the anti-Albanian and aggressive behavior of the Serbian
authorities, which have not condemned any act of aggression. This makes
Lulzim Basha believe that Edi Rama is not welcome in Belgrade.
“Look at the ordinary and provocative stance of President Nikolic when he says that Albania needs centuries to be a normal country. This was said by the assistant of Sheshel, who together with Milosevic and Karadjic were the last species of barbarity in Balkan. What are these messages? The message is that their door is closed”, Basha declared.
Lulzim Basha is convinced that Serbia is not sincere either with the EU or Albania.
“We all agree to invest for the European perspective in the region, but the anti-Albanian hate and violence in Serbia, the anti-NATO actions, the parades in Belgrade to honor the aggressor of freedom (Putin) show that Serbia is playing a double game and is not sincere about the Europan integration. They are not ready to start a new page that looks towards the future”, Basha declared.
This made Basha hold a stance against the plan of Prime Minister Edi Rama to visit Belgrade next week. A visit that according to Basha will bring nothing positive in these conditions.
“The visit has been damaged by important issues that should be part of the dialogue of this level. The media say that Rama’s request for the visit has been refused three times and postponed three times. Rama’s insistence to knock on a closed door is senseless and undecent. I ask the Prime Minister to postpone the visit, at least, cause it wouldn’t be worthy of anything in these conditions”, Basha declared.
The opposition leader made another request for the Prime Minister, referring to his travel to Boston.
“The Prime Minister must stop his travels around the world with a poor agenda for a Prime Minister, and turn to his work in Tirana. He must face the real problem of our people, such as the increased energy price, the raised taxes, increased unemployment, etc”, the DP leader appealed.
