The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, used a very harsh accusing
tone against the new government announced by the Socialist Party leader,
Edi Rama, calling them the old and new clients of the next Prime
Minister that reflects incapability and nepotism.
“The actors of a remote past, ministers of Ramiz Alia, protagonists of corruption and power abuse before 2005. The people who have slandered Albania in every important crossroad of European decision making processes, protagonists of the ties with illegal traffics, and people of nepotism, known managers of the interests of the former Mayor of Tirana. A team that collects incapability, lack of experience, intellectual mediocrity and with authoritarian and corruptive reflexes”, Basha declared.
Making this negative evaluation about the next government, the Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, believes that Edi Rama has made this selection for the new government based only on his personal power interests.
“After withdrawing from every promise made to the citizens on the June 23rd elections, yesterday’s announcement doesn’t surprise anyone but shows that Rama’s government could only be an union of people who will serve to their leader, so that he can fulfill his dream to feel as a Prime Minister and not to serve to the citizens. Every Albanian must know today that very soon, the consequences of this despising position against the interest of the Albanian people, will be the burden on their food tables, and on the tables of their families”, Basha declared.
Basha added that the Democratic Party is determined to defend the interests of the citizens by confronting the government of Edi Rama and what he calls “scheme of corrupting the power and to rob our state”.
Basha shared these considerations to the OSCE ambassador, Robert Uilton, to whom he expressed the opposition’s stance that “the flagrant robberies of the votes in Lezhe and the attempt to steal a Parliament seat from the Democratic Party, are consequences of the will that the Socialist Party lacked to show for a free and fair electoral process”.
The Democratic Party says that the only way to resolve these problems for the future is full transparency and bringing to responsibility the people who have been involved in the election result manipulation.
