The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, addressed to the protesters
gathered today in front of the Albanian Parliament and said that
peaceful protests will continue until this government is removed.
Basha said that investments and crediting dropped in these two years, poverty and unemployment increased, while Rama is the richest Prime Minister of the poorest people. Basha said that Rama treats the people as thieves when he has broken any record of stealing.
The opposition leader thanked the state police and declared that he is in favor of peaceful protests until the government is removed.
“I appeal citizens to show civility and that we are different from them, by not touching a single police officer. We are determined to stand with disobedience until we remove this government from power, which has caused corruption and economic ruin”, the DP leader said.
Edi Paloka said that 25 years ago, students and citizens gathered in this square to face the wildest regime this country had ever known. Today, 25 years later, Paloka said citizens are protesting once again because the current regime is as unfair and repressive.
MP Genc Pollo underlined that this government should leave, not to be replaced by others, but for the people that are here.
“The government has created an unbearable situation. The Rama-Meta government has not done anything good. The budget of Rama and Meta is stealing the money of our people. We don’t want a government that votes laws for imprisoning people. This budget is not raising salaries, pensions, or social welfare. It raises only taxes”, he said.
Arben Ristani said that there is no more room for a constructive opposition, but for protests.
MP Jozefina Topalli declared the Parliament wants to vote the budget of collapse and bankruptcy, and that youth sees no perspective in this country.
