The Democratic Party has a plan which can turn out to be the right solution for the Albanian people. The party chairman, Lulzim Basha, said in a news conference that the first step to be taken is to erase criminality from the government, reinstatement of the flat tax with the lowest level in the Balkans, transparency in the war against corruption and fair competition.
Basha accused the Prime Minister to be the sole responsible for the 160 million dollars missing from state revenues. He said that Edi Rama has declared amnesty for smugglers, thus promoting increase of informality in the Albanian economy. And in order to fill the huge gap in revenues in customs and taxes, he is targeting small and honest businesses, which are already on the brink of bankruptcy. According to Basha, tax increases have promoted informality, double balance sheets and tax evasion.
