The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, spoke tonight for the first
time in a TV show since reaching an agreement with the government and
starting the electoral campaign for the June 25th elections,
Basha arrived on Top Channel’s “Top Story” after holding an electoral campaign in Shkoder, where some supporters held slogans in favor of Jozefina Topalli, which Basha left outside the party. This was one of the matters discussed on the political talk show hosted by Sokol Balla.
Sokol Balla: It is the first time that you come up on a political show since the June 18th agreement. The past days were difficult not only for you. Is it true that these slogans appeared on the DP meeting?
Lulzim Basha: I am seeing them here on your show for the first time. The meeting was extraordinary. The commitment of the Shkoder citizens, for the victory of the June 25th elections, started since February 18th. I was thrilled by the participation of citizens supporting the winning team.
Sokol Balla: We cannot avoid questions related to the list of candidates, We noticed many of them were removed. Why did you do this change?
Lulzim Basha: The list was greeted by many and received extraordinary enthusiasm, not only from the party, but from the public, academics, civil society and the media. We have 41 women in 130 candidates. 82% of the candidates have never been Parliament Members. 42% are under 40 years old. This is the list that represents the desire, what is required by our time and our citizens, for having the Democratic Party run with a free and democratic team.
