The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, announced the discussion
held by their experts regarding the Constitutional draft propositions, reiterating
once again the need for a justice system free from government control. Basha
said he will not comment the declarations of foreign ambassadors, but he added
that the EU will offer no accession negotiations without having the right conditions
for fair elections.

“Today we discussed the Constitutional draft proposed
by our experts for the structure of the new laws and its decision making
system. We strongly back the proposition of the international partners for the
latter. We told the other party and we are waiting for them to approve it. For
the architecture, the draft reiterates that lawmakers are responsible for finding
an architecture which makes it impossible for politics to control it”,
Basha declared.
“DP will never accept a draft that allows justice
to be captured and so that they can give decisions similar to Shullazi. We have
always been in favor of the justice reform. They want to vote all of the things
together, but this should not be used to pressure the opposition. The principle
is more important and the principle is to not allow justice to be captured”,
Basha added.
