The Press Office of the Democratic Party states that the party leader, Lulzim Basha, told the US Ambassador in today’s meeting that they are against the appointing of the Provisory Prosecutor General.
Basha made it clear that by not creating the High Council of the Prosecution and by appointing a Provisory Prosecutor with simple majority, with no Vetting, is an anti-constitutional coup that has created a stalemate with the judiciary in the country, it has destroyed the political process and it is creating a crisis that destabilizes the country.
Basha confirmed that these actions had been planned by Edi Rama for appointing a Prosecutor General who is completely controlled by him, with the purpose to destroy the investigations against Saimir Tahiri, Vangjush Dako and other politicians directly tied to Rama.
The Democratic Party told the US Ambassador that the DP will do everything possible for the country to go back to constitutional order and have politicians tied with crime brought to justice.
The press office adds that the opposition leader guaranteed Ambassador Lu that the Albanian citizens will use all democratic methods to defend the constitution and democracy against Edi Rama and the drug clans that rule the country together with him, according to Basha.
