Basha meets Schulz: “No decriminalization, only criminalization of local government”

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, met with the President of the
European Parliament, Martin Schulz, with whom he discussed about the
political actuality of our country.
Basha underlined the decriminalization process, for which parties agreed with the intermediation of the European Parliament. It did not get implemented due to the lack of good will by the majority.
“Unfortunately, the decriminalization agreement did not work due to the lack of good will from the Rama-Meta duro. There was no decriminalization, but criminalization of the local government. We discussed about corruption, crime, free and fair elections. I guaranteed Mr.Schulz that the opposition and I are determined to continue with the decriminalization. There can be no European future when we have mayors and Parliament Members with criminal records”, Basha declared.
