The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, met with the US Deputy
Assistant Secretary of State for International Drug Traffic, Alexander
Arvizu, (Former US Ambassador to Tirana), and US Ambassador Donald Lu.

The Democratic Party announcement said that the meeting focused on the current political events, in conditions when the US State Department and Europol declared past month that Albania has turned into the main distributor of marijuana in Europe, a key country for the traffic of heroine, money laundering and a source of orgaznied crime for the region.

The opposition leader told Arvizu that these international reports confirm the criminalization of the state, which the Democratic Party had warned during these years as the main risk that threatens politics, economy and the future of Albania.

“This is why this government and this Prime Minister don’t have the will and don’t stand any chance to guarantee free and fair elections”, Basha said.
