The Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim Basha, guarantees that he will guarantee the
quality of the food products and that he will avoid abuses as regards
prices and weight of goods, such as bread.
“Every abuse with price and weight will receive the legal answer. The quality of the goods that are sold in Tirana’s markets, especially food, will be inspected for the weight, like with bread; the quality, like with meat, which is still sold in Tirana in bad conditions”, Basha declared.
Although there were abuses with the prices during the holidays, Basha declared that the vendors that abuse will be punished by the municipality taxes, with “ad hoc” mechanisms, like the market built behind the Palace of Culture for opposing abusers.
“All markets must function like the European ones”, Basha declared.
