Basha: Legalizations, 13 times more expensive

After presented the view of the Democratic Party about the history of the problem that affects thousands of Albanians, Basha accused the Prime Minister of making a media show with the distribution of property titles, which in fact, according to Basha, have been completed by the Democratic Party government and are only being distributed now.

“The legalizations started with the Democratic Party. The law foresaw the legalization and then the urbanization. There were 270,000 applications, and 107,000 objects passed with a Council of Ministers decision even there were the land didn’t belong to the citizens who had built the object. But this land was exproprirated by a Council of Ministers decision. 70,000 financial bills were prepared and are still unpaid. 40,000 case were filed. All the bills were paid and it was only for the distribution. This is the distribution that is making this Prime Minister today”, Basha declared.

For the Democratic Party, not only there will be no free legalization, but on the contrary, the price that citizens will be forced to pay for documenting their property will increase.

“He promised this law before January, and now we are in May. The law has arrived in Parliament, and if it was for free legalizations, we wouldn’t be here with you today. We would admit that Rama promised free legalizations and he made them possible. But the new draft-law doesn’t have any article for free legalization. The Prime Minister says that the properties will be paid in cash with a real market value. Not only there will be no free legalization, but there will be a higher price, in Tirana and everywhere else”, the Democratic Party leader declared.

Besides this, according to Basha, the proposed law excludes a huge number of citizens from the legalization, regardless of where their properties are.

SP: We will keep our promise

The Socialist Party reacted after a declaration of the Democratic Party by saying that the majority is keeping the given promise, while they invited the opposition to vote the legalization law.

“In eight years of government, the Democratic Party gave only unkept promises. The promise that Rama and the majority gave is now being realized. We appeal the opposition to vote the law. They don’t have to withhold all Albanians who have been able to finalize the legalization today”, declared the Socialist Party Parliament Member, Olta Xhacka.
