The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, said that Albanian citizens, inside and outside the Parliament, protested same as in every other European county, when their constitutional rights and justice are violated.

“Albania saw that this country has men and women, young and old, citizens who rise up and fight, ready to sacrifice, and do not accept the constitutional violation made by an autocrat who has ties with the crime. There is no other way to deal with this”, Basha wrote.

The Democratic Party and Socialist Movement for Integration decided this Monday to protest and oppose the appointing of the Provisory Prosecutor by the majority.

Former Democratic Party leader and former Prime Minister Sali Berisha suggested that MPs should burn their mandates in protest.

The opposition accuses Edi Rama of wanting to use the Prosecutor to close open investigations against his former Interior Minister, two Mayors and two other Ministers.
