Two days after the Court of Appeal rejected the life sentence for Aldo
Bare and returned it to be reviewed at the Court of First Degree, the
Ministry of Justice ordered the inspections of all procedures that have
been followed for Aldo Bare, whose real name is Alfred Shkurti.
Credible sources said for Top-Channel that the inspectors are visiting the Court of Serious Crimes this Wednesday and will verify all files that hold the Aldo Bare name. Sources say that the inspectors will verify the procedures followed by this Court since 2006, when was given the security measure, a time in which Bare was arrested in Ankara and waited the extradition order in Turkey.
The inspectors are also verifying the trial that started in the absence of Aldo Bare, when the defendant was still in Turkey. These verifications are based on one of the Court of Appeal arguments for serious procedural violations.
The procedural violations have often been mentioned by the defendant’s lawyers, who have insisted that the accusations had not been communicated to Aldo Bare when he was in Turkey, and that the deadline for waiting trial in prison has expired. He also said that the key person of this event, Gramoz Selmani, had not been specified to him.
According to the lawyer, the Prosecution has started the investigations some years ago, for the events that took place in Lushnje. He added that his status changed to that of a witness, protected by the justice. However, until the Ministry of Justice will finish the inspections, we will wait to see if the Prosecution and the defensive lawyers will address to the Supreme Court for the decision of the Court of Appeal or not. The only thing that was publicly declared is that Bare’s lawyer will address the Supreme Court for closing the case and declaring as innocent the most notorious man, accused of many murders and of organized crime.
