The Albanian government has changed the Law of Securing Bank Deposits,
including the insurance scheme for the citizens’ deposits.
Another change was the one that removes from bad loans from the scheme.
According to the draft, if an individual has an unpaid loan and deposits at the same time, the Agency will respond only for the difference of the two, which means that the insurance will go for the deposits minus the debt.
