Ban Ki Moon: Concerned for Northern Kosovo

The General Secretary of the UN, Ban Ki Moon, expressed his concern
about the situation in Northern Kosovo and asked the authorities to
resolve this situation through a peaceful dialogue.

Ban Ki Moon released these comments from the Airport of Prishtina, during a short meeting with the journalists.

He underlined that some steps are needed for increasing the mutual respect in the region, valuing this as a very important advise.

The UN General Secretary invited all parties to intensify their work in the missing persons issue, while he underlined that the UN Mission in Kosovo will keep having an important role.

Ban Ki Moon visited Serbia this Monday, where he underlined the need of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, and finding a solution through compromise.

The Self-Determination Movement held a protest against the visit of Ban Ki Moon. They wrote “Unfair” at the UNMIK building, and claimed that the police exerted violence against the activists.
