The DP opposition continued today with the calls for the opening of the boxes for the partial elections of the Municipality of Himara, in the hope that they will be repeated.

Representative Koli Bele said that the right originates from Article 21, Section 2, and that the practice is consolidated in previous cases.

“The process will be carried out in the presence of the party, without interruption and in the presence of the cameras of the CEC”, added Bele.

The Central Election Commission administration started the counting process to find the evidence sought by the opposition, who are convinced they can overturn the Himara result, where the Socialists won by a deep margin of 1,477 votes.

DP representative Franci Nuri said: “We claim about 560 voters were prevented that day due to the effect of identity cards. We also have over 300 recently added voters from other municipalities. 260 voters with renewed cards in the last few days, how many and how did they know. If all these figures are added together, they exceed the difference between the candidates.”

On Monday, the commission is expected to put an end to the saga of the Himara elections after the minutes and special registers of the 36 voting centers are verified.
