Women in their seventh month of pregnancy who live in the areas that
have been isolated by the snow will be transported to the district
maternities for not putting their lives and that of their babies in
danger, due to the difficult weather conditions.

“We have ordered since yesterday that all women in the seventh month of their pregnancy and over should be transported to the district maternities until this situation will be over, in order to avoid childbirths in difficult conditions”, Petrit Vasili declared.

The Minister added that the Heads of the Health Directories have been instructed to hire midwifes for helping the pregnant patients.

Minister Vasili also declared that all health centers have been supplied with reserve medicament packages, and others are ready to be sent if needed.

According to Minister Vasili, the entire health system is standing by for this situation. With this initiative, a 33-year-old pregnant woman was transported with a helicopter from Lekbibaj to the Koco Glozheni maternity.
