Baby-killing father in prison

The Court of Tirana left the 29 year old Hysen Biba to prison until trial. He is the person that threw the three day old newborn from the fourth floor of the Koco Gliozheni maternity.

Biba gave no explanation during the court session, while his defensive lawyer declared that his client has mental problems. The prosecution declared that Biba has admitted the crime, but they have no motive.

In thsi conditions, the court decided to lest Hysen Biba to prison until his investigation will finish. The Prosecution might demand a psychological expertise for Biba, since he and his relatives have confirmed that he was suffering from depression and was receiving treatment.

Hysen Bibaj declared to the Police that he had been having problems with his wife, and that he was taking anti-depressive medicine. He admitted that when he went at his wife’s hospital room to bring her food, he took his son in his arms for some minutes and threw him from the window, for the grudge he had against his wife.

When asked for the motive, he declared that he suspected that his son wasn’t his. He had been emigrating in Britain, and when he returned he wasn’t sure about her pregnancy. He repeated several times that he threw the child from the window due to the grudge that he had against his wife.

After the event, police have interrogated the shocked mother and the relatives of the Biba family, who declared that their son suffered depression. They told how he asked his wife to hold the baby for some minutes, and she didn’t object. Then he went to the window, very calmly, and stayed there for several minutes. Then he had abruptly opened the window and thrown the baby in full consciousness. Taking advantage from the chaos created among the relatives and the staff, he has left the room, taken his car and driven home where he was caught by the police.
