As in every New Year’s celebration, January 2nd awakes the cities after
two days of silence, when not only state employees, but also private
business owners give themselves the right to rest.
Although Tirana was still asleep on Monday, and most of the shops were closed, there are a few people in the streets. It is one of those days when you can walk on foot, because the chaotic traffic is still asleep.
The movements increased around 11:00, with visits to the relatives. A tradition that is fading away, since it has been replaced with phone messages.
Profiting from the holidays, people keep exchanging felicitations and gifts, before the holidays are over and everyone returns to the daily activities.
