The State Committee approved the project of the Austrian Studio “COOP
MIMMELB(L)AU”, previously chosen by the international jury for the
construction of the new Parliamentary Complex.

Present in this meeting, Prime Minister Sali Berisha, declared that the projects that were presented give a different functional and environmental solution to the complex, adding that the prices vary from 49 to 100 million EUR.

“It is very difficult to chose, but an international evaluator made an impartial and objective ranking”, Berisha declared.

The Minister of Finances, Ridvan Bode, declared that the task of the Committee was to guarantee the procedures, and not choosing the winning project.

One year later, an international jury ranked an Austrian company as first among the 12 projects.

The Parliament, which in this case is on the investor’s role, is not obliged to sign an agreement with the studio that receives more points from the international jury, if the Parliament is not happy with the conditions offered by the winning studio.
