Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future A group of doctors from Melbourne, Australia, have arrived in Albania
for giving a specialized care to the children with surgical
interventions at the Tirana hospitals. The Australian ambassador in
Greece, Jenny Bloomfield, which also covers Albania, organized a
ceremony for thanking the doctors.
She said that with the strong support of the Albanian-Australian community, who collected 60.000 doctors, they were able to realize the visit of the doctors in Albania.
“We are happy to welcome these doctors for the third time in Tirana. They have built consolidated relations with their Albanian colleague, because their arrival has been enabled by the Albanian community in Australia, in order to help the children in need of a specialized treatment”, declared Ambassador Bloomfield.
The Australian ambassador says that this is not the only project that will help the children in need of a specialized treatment.
“We are here to show other projects for Albania, especially the rural areas, such as the project for raising awareness among the children for the oral hygiene. We have helped with the construction of a playground in an orphanage, and we have another project for agriculture. This is an indicator of the partnership that we are building with the Albanian people. The Australian businesses are seeing the possibility to invest in Albania in areas such as tourism, transportation and education”, the Ambassador declared.
Mrs. Bloomfield considered as very positive the role of the Albanian community in Albania, saying that they have been able to be successful and have progressed in all areas of life.
