The Greek Foreign Ministry reacted after some news reports coming from
Greek media outlets, saying that some hooligans entered the Dervican
village in Gjirokaster and threatened the residents.

The Greek Foreign Ministry asked the Albanian authorities to not allow these events anymore.

The Greek authorities advised the parties to lower tensions and watch towards the European future. They asked official Tirana to take measures for protecting the minorities.

Athens doesn’t seem happy with the Albanian flag that was raised in Belgrade’s “Partisan” stadium, where several territories shown in that map are part of Greece.

The Greek Ambassador to Tirana, by order of the Greek Foreign Minister, handed over a note of protest regarding the situation created after the match between Serbia and Albania.

Ambassador Rokanas asked the Albanian authorities to condemn the violent acts committed by hooligans in an Albanian village with residents from the Greek minority.

The diplomat says that the authors should be found and arrested, and more measures should be taken for defending the Greek minorities during the celebrations of the National Holiday of Greece on October 28th.

He transmitted the concerns of Athens to the Tirana authorities about the illegal attacks against the peaceful Greek minority that lives in Albania.
