The Albanian Commando Team was led by captain Feti Vogli, now a martyr
of the nation. His parents live in a modest house in Balle neighborhood,
Baldushk.

His current home is in Tirana, but the entire family lives in Baldushk. His friends pay homage with tear in their eyes.

Femi Vogli was born in 1981, and his entire life was dedicated to the army. The uniform made him proud. In 2007 he met Elva, his wife that today is crying while waiting for his body to return. On the same year, his career was filled with promotion for distinct services.

His brother, Florenc Vogli, can’t hold his tears while trying to speak about his brother, while his 3 year old niece, Egi, will grow up without her dad. This wasn’t his first meeting, but the danger did came from those who were supposed to accompany them. They find no peace in the fact that the 11 persons that conducted the attack have been arrested. Feti Vogli and Alexander Peci were shot because they were in the first line.

Florenc Vogli had communicated with his brother 12 days ago.

“He was very calm. He joined the army 10 years ago, and he had a passion about it. I have had excellent relations with him”.

His uncle is full of pain and pride, as all the other men in the Vogli house.

“He married four years ago and had a three year old girl. I heard the news at 16:30, but they told me that he was wounded. After half an hour, some people from the military arrived here”, his uncle says.

This was his last mission, which also took the life of a family man, who was the stable point for many people.

Bedri Vogli learned yesterday that his son fell as a hero.

Relatives pray for Alexander Peci

Alexander Peci had gone to Kandahar 34 days ago. This was his first international mission. The 24 year old was expected home by his fiancée and the family.

His house was opened yesterday for waiting visits for his death. They cried for his death for two hours, but miraculous news told them that their son was still alive.

His family has come from the Lekbibaj village, Tropoja, for a better life in Tirana, where Alexander finished the high-school and entered the army. He loves his uniform. His fiancée was waiting for him to be married this year.

The 24-year-old sniper received three large caliber bullets and in delicate areas, however, he is still fighting for his life.

His uncle is the first one who finds the courage to speak. The tradition requires him to not cry, but it seems impossible.

“I saw it on the news and I was shocked. We thought him dead initially, because that’s what the news were saying. Then the Command told us that he was still alive. It seemed a miracle and we were tranquilized for the moment”, the uncle says.

Aleksander’s bigger sister and brother are in Greece and Italy, expected to come at any moment. His other sister and mother are shocked.

Jak Peci, the proud and concerned father, tells us about his son’s passion for the army, and that they had programmed a wedding this July.

The heavy bullets shot the youngest soldier of the group, by the people who were supposed to accompany them in the mission. The Peci family desperately wait for other news, for the next phone call that will give them the biggest sorrow or joy.

“It was a difficult night, but we have hopes. I just couldn’t believe it when I received the other news, that my son was still alive”, he declared.
